Dear Prayer Warriors,
This is in no way my detailed update…I hope to do that later. I am so sorry for the silence of the past months, but i was unable to communicate due to the effects of treatment and the cancer itself. However, things are beginning to get a little better and my verbal communication is almost back to normal. Still, it is hard for me to gather my thoughts and put them in writing and there is so much to say. I would rather wait until I can do a better job of telling my story.
We are continuing to follow the treatment plan of California one week and Birmingham the next. Praise the Lord, we have seen an improvement in my numbers. On Tuesday I am having scans done and that will tell the real story of what is happening inside. Please pray that God will see fit to shrink the tumors and reduce the amount of cancer. Also, please pray for strength and energy as sometimes finding a solution to one problem creates another one. I have found that every medication seems to have some side effect for me and some days it’s just a roller coaster. Pray that God will sustain us with his Holy Spirit and continue to encourage us with all the changes I have experienced. I have definitely experienced less fatigue, pain and fluid build up recently which although not gone is still encouraging.
I very much appreciate each of you and would not be here without all of your prayers. I wish I had the energy to visit with each and every one of you, but between my fatigue and mental clarity, it has been difficult to stay focused for any period of time. I am confidant that God is at work in the circumstances we are facing and know He is able to do “exceeding abundantly beyond all we can think or ask."
Your kindness and generosity during this difficult time has overwhelmed me and I am forever grateful for the love you have expressed. And may you know that I love you too.

Nancy, We’ve been anxiously awaiting the next update. Thanks so much! I know it takes a lot of effort to do, but it really helps all of us who love you stay current with our prayers (although our Heavenly Father hears even our vague st petitions and has it all under His loving control.)
What a thrill to see your Name at the end of this post. We will be praying tomorrow for the results of your tests and strength through your ongoing treatments. Al, all of my words to you and Nancy during this horrific but yet Glorious journey have been by private text or calls. That seemed most appropriate. Now, I am compelled to speak for a host of people who love you, Nancy and your family.
You have been my friend for almost 70 years. There are no words to describe what I, the people on this site and far beyond have witnessed. Nancy shared her hopes and fears, victories and struggles so transparently with all who need to see her Savior. She did so to point all to Christ. The Christ she had known on all of the mountain tops proved all the more vital to her in the valley.
Nancy became our guide as she grasp the hand of her Savior.
We all prayed so earnestly for her healing … and for you, dear brother. Nancy taught us so much about faith, trust in the Almighty Creator, who is also the Wonderous Healer. We do not understand but Nancy showed us He is never silent.
The remarkable evolution of faith,the mystery of heaven, is now more clear than ever. Nancy mandated that God would be glorified without regard to the outcome of our prayers. She out shined us on that prayer. Her only expectation was His continued Presence. Nancy remained focused on the eternal weight of Glory, never her momentary affliction. She never wavered. Her journey strengthened all of us every day. It was not unexpected of her. She did that every day of the years that God shared her us. No one did it better. She prayed that God would be Glorified in her journey. He was, and is and will always be Glorified by the life of your faithful bride.
All of your family and friends join me in saying “thank you.” You lived in partnership with the God of the universe to witness the spiritual formation of one of the Godliest women we have ever known.
Well done you good and faithful servant of the Most High. We are all so very, very thankful for Nancy’s life and your unwavering love for her.
